Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend synchronization and networking systems for distributed AI operations across edge devices and isolated cloud environments.
- Architect data synchronization frameworks using content-addressable storage, Merkle trees, and CRDTs.
- Tune performance, debug, and optimize distributed software under resource constraints and intermittent connectivity.
- Apply security-first design through threat modeling, secure key management, and cryptographic primitives and protocols.
- Collaborate with MLOps, Infrastructure, and Security teams to deploy AI components in restricted or air-gapped systems.
- Contribute to architectural design discussions and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain testing, observability, and validation practices supporting reliability and compliance readiness.
- Work with concepts including distributed hash tables, content identifiers, gossip protocols, DAGs, overlay networks, and NAT traversal.
Requirements
- Experience with CRDTs.
- Experience with peer-to-peer or decentralized networking frameworks.
- Development will be done in Rust; prior Rust experience is not explicitly required because the role supports getting up to speed while working with the systems.
