Responsibilities
- Turn agreed product scope into working products and testable releases.
- Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, integrations, and data-handling functionality.
- Build frontend experiences that connect backend services to users.
- Apply and improve advanced AI-assisted workflows across development, testing, and validation.
- Integrate AI capabilities where they add product value.
- Collaborate with product and design using data, user insights, and hypotheses to guide implementation and validate outcomes.
- Improve software performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Contribute to deployment, maintenance, and operation while owning the software delivered.
- Help shape the team’s product-building practices and share effective approaches across the organisation.
Requirements
- Strong engineering expertise in frontend development, backend development, or both, with the ability to make architecture trade-offs and deliver reliable software.
- Hands-on frontend experience with React or a comparable framework.
- Hands-on backend experience with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript, including APIs, integrations, and data handling.
- Experience using AI across substantial parts of product delivery, including explaining contributions, verifying results, and applying lessons learned.
- Experience with advanced AI-assisted workflows such as agent-based or spec-driven development.
- Ability to structure work for AI, provide context, evaluate resulting software, and take responsibility for production outcomes.
- Experience working in a product organisation and cross-functional team with product managers and designers.
- Experience using data and user insights to test hypotheses, validate value, and share responsibility for post-release outcomes.
- Preferred experience with backend services or systems in Rust and/or Python.
- Preferred experience with AWS and distributed, event-driven, or serverless systems.
- Preferred experience with automated delivery pipelines and infrastructure as code.
- Mobile development or other broadening technical experience is beneficial.
- Experience with experimentation tooling, user-experience metrics, or integrating AI/ML products and user feedback signals is beneficial.
- Curiosity, ownership, knowledge sharing, and willingness to challenge existing practices are valued.
