Base Salary

$120k - $261k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build customer-facing web applications and the APIs, services, and data capabilities behind them.
  • Own features across the full stack from customer requirements and architecture through implementation, deployment, and operations.
  • Design architectures, write design documents, make technical decisions, and collaborate with product managers, designers, architects, and partner teams.
  • Write, review, debug, test, and maintain secure, scalable, reliable, performant, and maintainable production code.
  • Develop test strategies, improve test coverage and automation, and incorporate security testing into solution design.
  • Use AI tools and practices across software development, testing, debugging, operations, and developer productivity.
  • Drive secure deployment automation, experimentation, feature flighting, rollback planning, and production-like validation.
  • Operate live services through monitoring, telemetry, on-call support, incident response, postmortems, and reliability improvements.
  • Guide other engineers, lead engineering initiatives, and influence architecture and design decisions without formal authority.
  • Incorporate customer insights, usage data, experimentation metrics, security, privacy, compliance, accessibility, and performance requirements into product development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field plus 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
  • Coding experience with one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Preferred: master’s degree plus 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: experience designing, building, and operating large-scale applications and services on Microsoft Azure or comparable cloud platforms.
  • Preferred: end-to-end technical ownership from architecture and design through implementation, deployment, and operational excellence.
  • Preferred: technical leadership experience driving initiatives, architecture and design decisions, and influence across engineering and partner teams.
  • Preferred: full-stack development experience with React, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript, including micro-frontend architectures and backend APIs/services.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools and applying AI across software design, implementation, testing, debugging, operations, and developer productivity.

Benefits

  • Employees within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft Hub in the U.S. are expected to work from the office at least four days per week, subject to local law and jurisdiction.
