Software Engineer II
TripAdvisorResponsibilities
- Own product features from design through deployment and connect engineering work to traveler value.
- Partner with product, design, and data teams to define specifications and delivery approaches.
- Review code, provide feedback, and coach less experienced engineers.
- Use agentic AI tools to plan work and automate routine development tasks.
- Build monitoring dashboards, manage alerts and support cases, and fix underlying bugs to improve reliability.
- Design and implement maintainable, performant, secure solutions with automated testing.
Requirements
- At least 2–3 years of experience following a bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or a related field.
- Experience developing web applications with a modern backend language such as Java, C#, Go, or Python and familiarity with relational databases.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms, applied to distributed systems.
- Experience using operational data and experiment results to validate engineering changes.
- Fluency coding with Cursor or Codex, Claude, or Open Code.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively within a global team.
- Openness to working within the Java ecosystem after joining.
- Exposure to AWS, React, or NoSQL databases is especially valued.
