Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operationalize AI and machine learning solutions for anomaly detection, fraud indicators, operational risk signals, and process deviations in payment flows.
- Develop anomaly detection models using supervised, unsupervised, semi-supervised, time-series, graph-based, statistical, and hybrid approaches.
- Engineer batch, streaming, and near-real-time data pipelines for payment monitoring, scoring, alert generation, and investigation workflows.
- Tune detection thresholds and model sensitivity to improve precision, recall, F1 score, alert quality, and false-positive reduction.
- Build explainability capabilities, reason codes, model diagnostics, and investigation summaries for operations, risk, and technology teams.
- Integrate detection services with payment applications, case-management tools, workflow platforms, APIs, data stores, and human-in-the-loop processes.
- Use GenAI, RAG, and agentic AI for alert summarization, root-cause analysis, knowledge retrieval, operational playbooks, and assisted triage.
- Implement MLOps practices covering experiment tracking, model versioning, deployment automation, reproducibility, monitoring, rollback, and production support.
- Monitor model performance, drift, data quality, alert trends, investigation outcomes, SLA adherence, and production reliability.
- Partner with payments operations, product, risk, compliance, architecture, cybersecurity, and engineering teams to translate business needs into AI-enabled controls.
- Apply Responsible AI, model risk management, auditability, data governance, security, and regulatory requirements to AI solutions.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional experience and 3–5 years in data engineering, AI engineering, machine learning engineering, software engineering, or related disciplines.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience building anomaly detection, fraud detection, transaction monitoring, risk scoring, or payment intelligence models.
- Strong knowledge of clustering, isolation forests, one-class SVM, autoencoders, gradient boosting, time-series anomaly detection, graph-based detection, and statistical outlier methods.
- Experience engineering features from high-volume payment data and tuning detection thresholds for operational effectiveness.
- Experience deploying batch, streaming, or near-real-time inference pipelines with Kafka, Spark, Airflow, cloud data platforms, APIs, and MLOps tooling.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, APIs, workflow automation, cloud-native architectures, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with explainability techniques and investigation support using SHAP, LIME, reason codes, model diagnostics, rule-model hybrids, and GenAI-assisted summaries.
- Experience monitoring model drift, data quality, alert trends, investigation outcomes, SLA performance, and production reliability.
- Strong understanding of RAG, OpenAI Service, prompt engineering, vector databases, and LLM integrations with external systems.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for deploying AI services and experience working on CI/CD-based projects.
- Experience with Jira and strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience includes payments, SWIFT, ISO 20022, wires, ACH, SEPA, real-time payments, cross-border processing, IBM MQ, Kafka, MFT, Responsible AI, data governance, and model risk management.
