Responsibilities

  • Design and implement service-oriented architectures that expose data platforms through APIs and reusable services.
  • Develop REST/gRPC APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and event-driven services for real-time and batch data consumption.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering teams on data models, pipelines, and governance requirements.
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and role-based access control across exposed services.
  • Optimize service performance for low-latency scheduling and predictive maintenance use cases.
  • Manage API versioning, monitoring, documentation, and lifecycle processes.
  • Drive CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and observability for service deployments.
  • Mentor engineers on API design, microservices architecture, and DevOps automation.
  • Collaborate with architects and product teams to align service design with platform strategy and business goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12–15 years of software engineering experience, including at least five years in platform or integration-focused roles.
  • Expertise in API development using REST/gRPC and GraphQL, plus microservices architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure and Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of data integration patterns, Kafka or Event Hubs, and orchestration frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for service deployments.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include data virtualization, semantic layers, OAuth2, JWT, compliance frameworks, Prometheus, Grafana, API management platforms, OpenUSD, Omniverse, open-source contributions, or published work in platform engineering or Industry 4.0 technologies.
