Base Salary
$140k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set the technical direction, best practices, and innovation strategy for the Generative AI team.
- Shape the AI roadmap and identify opportunities to apply generative AI across Xometry’s marketplace.
- Develop and deploy large language and generative models for multimodal document processing and structured data extraction.
- Combine text, images, and 3D data to build multimodal AI solutions.
- Create data pipelines and training workflows for massive, complex datasets.
- Train, optimize, and deploy ML models in the cloud at production scale.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to integrate AI into products and customer workflows.
- Mentor teammates on ML methods, model architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Monitor generative AI and deep learning research and apply relevant advances in production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required; an M.S. or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in machine learning or data science with deep expertise in generative models, LLMs, or computer vision.
- Strong experience with large-scale language and vision models, including Transformers, GPT, and VLMs.
- Hands-on experience working with multimodal text, image, and 3D data.
- Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, pandas, and NumPy.
- Strong knowledge of probability, statistics, and optimization for generative modeling.
- Experience deploying ML and AI models using cloud microservice architectures, preferably AWS.
- Strong software engineering skills, including object-oriented programming, testing, version control, CI/CD practices, and infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform.
- Ability to communicate effectively with executives, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Manufacturing, supply chain, or related industry experience is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder for ITAR compliance.
