Responsibilities
- Designs and develops Windows software and services that ship to customers and partners at global scale.
- Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to improve performance, maintainability, effectiveness, and ROI.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to determine user requirements, identify dependencies, and develop design documents.
- Partners with product managers and other stakeholders to drive project plans, release plans, and work items.
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual, participates in on-call monitoring, and initiates restoration actions for service degradation or interruptions.
- Improves availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance while driving consistency in monitoring and operations.
- Provides technical leadership, develops engineering playbooks, fosters partner relationships, and mentors other engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science with 10+ years of experience, or a related technical degree with 10+ years, or a master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field with 8+ years, or equivalent experience.
- Strong design, coding, debugging, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Customer-focused and innovative mindset, passion for engineering craftsmanship, and experience with cross-group design and coordination.
