
Software Engineer, Manufacturing Test

Responsibilities
- Develop applications for Windows and Linux desktop environments.
- Integrate cloud data, deployment features, user authentication, and security.
- Create Python automation scripts for debugging and prototype development.
- Use parallel execution, data acquisition, and automated deployment tools to reduce operator time and instruction complexity.
- Develop analytics that improve the development cycle, automation, throughput, user interfaces, and test methods.
- Triage issues, identify root causes of failures, and coordinate next steps.
- Partner with end users to translate needs into features while balancing user experience and engineering constraints.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience; a bachelor’s degree in a related field is also specified.
- Expertise in software development with Python.
- Experience integrating or developing low-level code, device libraries, or drivers.
- Experience with CI/CD and designing and delivering DevOps automation for application deployment and testing.
- Experience collaborating on multidisciplinary projects with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers.
- Experience with automated unit, integration, and system-level testing.
- Expertise using Git for version control.
- Must be able to travel to the Costa Mesa headquarters 25-50% of the time.
- Must be a U.S. Person due to access requirements for U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
- Preferred: 5+ years of relevant industry experience and experience in manufacturing or industrial software.
- Preferred: Understanding of USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, and similar device communication protocols.
- Preferred: Expertise in desktop application development with WPF and C#.
- Preferred: Experience with embedded systems and testing non-software products.
- Preferred: Proficiency with RESTful services in AWS or Azure infrastructure.
- Preferred: Hands-on knowledge of a major relational database such as DB2 or SQL Server and/or NoSQL.
- Preferred: Experience with test automation or cloud deployment tools.
- Preferred: Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Preferred: Pursuing a master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
