Responsibilities
- Write high-quality, testable software and follow defined software engineering and development processes.
- Use test-first development where possible and create automated unit, system, and acceptance tests.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, test plan reviews, iteration demos, and team retrospectives.
- Complete assigned integration, testing, deployment, defect resolution, and change management tasks.
- Work with product management to scope and estimate product enhancements.
- Design and implement software with attention to scalability, security, and software architecture.
- Write and maintain documentation covering development logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
- Participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical issues during evenings, weekends, and holidays according to defined SLAs.
- Follow confidentiality, HIPAA, regulatory, security, and employer policies for all handled data and delivered services.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, including data structures and algorithms.
- At least 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products and at least 1 year of software design and architecture experience.
- Advanced design, debugging, and coding skills.
- Ability to build secure applications and follow security standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or information technology.
- A master’s degree or PhD in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
- Strong integrity, trust-building, communication, organization, teamwork, problem-solving, and continuous learning skills.
