Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve backend systems for Postman’s identity platform.
- Own projects end to end, from requirements clarification to production support.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to launch new features.
- Enhance system reliability, scalability, and operational readiness.
- Lead execution for projects involving small engineering teams.
- Participate in debugging, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Raise engineering quality through improved test coverage and code reviews.
- Partner with management on roadmap and prioritization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in building complex backend or distributed systems.
- Experience designing and operating production systems with reliability requirements.
- Ability to drive ambiguous problems from idea to production with minimal supervision.
- Experience leading or guiding small groups of engineers.
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, networking, and system design.
- Ability to write testable, maintainable, and understandable code.
- Comfortable making architectural trade-offs and explaining reasoning.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
