Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, direction, mentorship, and engineering guidance to software and DevSecOps teams.
- Design, develop, integrate, and modernize enterprise applications and shared services.
- Develop software and scripts using Java, Python, and related technologies.
- Lead cloud-based solution and infrastructure efforts using AWS, Azure, or comparable platforms.
- Maintain and enhance Jenkins and Git-based CI/CD pipelines and guide migration to Git-native environments.
- Implement DevSecOps practices including automated testing, code quality analysis, vulnerability scanning, and secure software delivery.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend sustainable solutions.
- Review technical designs, code quality, and engineering approaches for alignment with architecture and security standards.
- Support Agile planning, technical estimation, solution design, and milestone delivery.
- Coordinate with Government stakeholders, technical teams, and contractors to deliver required solutions.
- Create technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Improve system performance, automation, operational efficiency, and software reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least five years of hands-on software development experience.
- Expertise with modern programming and scripting languages such as Java and Python.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms including AWS and/or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps orchestration and CI/CD technologies including Jenkins and Git-based CI systems.
- Experience with software development, integration, automation, and troubleshooting in enterprise IT environments.
- Ability to mentor technical team members and guide complex engineering work.
- Experience delivering solutions using Agile or similar software development methodologies.
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Preferred experience supporting U.S. Federal Government or Department of State IT programs.
- Preferred experience with GitLab CI/CD migration, pipeline modernization, Groovy, YAML, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Preferred familiarity with SonarQube, Nexus Repository Manager, Nexus IQ, and ACCELQ.
- Preferred experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or Red Hat OpenShift.
- Preferred experience with software architecture, microservices, APIs, enterprise application integration, automated testing, code scanning, quality gates, and continuous delivery.
- Preferred knowledge of secure software development practices and NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP frameworks.
- Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance required.
