Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, test, and evaluate software and cloud infrastructure using secure software engineering practices.
- Translate business requirements, architecture, and technology direction into scalable, resilient, maintainable software and systems.
- Build and operate production services using object-oriented design, service-oriented or microservice architectures, APIs, relational databases, asynchronous processing, and public cloud environments.
- Deliver automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing through a CI/CD pipeline and participate in Git-based code review.
- Provide production support through logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, incident triage, and a rotating on-call schedule.
- Own ambiguous technical problems through design, implementation, and release; decompose work for others and raise team engineering standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and non-technical stakeholders and contribute to iterative delivery, mentoring, hiring, and interview loops.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years of related experience, or a master’s degree and 2 years, a Ph.D. and 1 year, or 12 years of related experience with no degree.
- Professional experience designing, building, and maintaining production software in a modern object-oriented language such as C#, Java, Kotlin, Go, TypeScript, Python, or C++.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, distributed systems, API design, relational databases, asynchronous processing, cloud services, containerized workloads, automated testing, observability, and production support.
- Experience with senior-level ownership, software delivery, communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and Agile or iterative delivery models.
- Preferred experience with C# and .NET, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, AWS, Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Docker, static analysis, security scanning, system modernization, third-party APIs, multi-tenant SaaS, and resiliency practices.
- Preferred experience mentoring engineers or interns and participating in hiring and interview loops.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and must clear a pre-employment drug test.
