Responsibilities
- Modernize, consolidate, and re-platform cash processing applications to improve cash management and cash forecasting capabilities.
- Internalize third-party image software using cloud platforms, object stores, workflow engines, data streams, and APIs.
- Develop and implement Java/J2EE and Spring web applications using API-driven development and remote data technologies.
- Provide technical strategy, innovative solutions, and expert advice to leadership across enterprise technology areas.
- Lead resolution of complex, large-scale engineering challenges and support high-quality, timely delivery across engineering teams.
- Maintain awareness of industry best practices and recommend technologies that improve operations or competitive advantage.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience or equivalent experience, training, military experience, or education.
- At least 4 years of application development and implementation experience.
- At least 4 years of Java/J2EE web application development and Spring Core experience.
- At least 4 years of API-driven development experience, including SOAP, REST, and JSON.
- At least 1 year of experience using generative AI technologies or AI-assisted development platforms such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Devin, or Claude.
- Preferred qualifications include cash processing or payments experience, cloud certification or experience, containers and Kubernetes, React, BDD/DDD, Cucumber or Karate, object-oriented and multithreaded application development, performance tuning, resiliency, and security best practices.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with complex middleware or consumer banking applications, Agile project delivery using JIRA, and prior financial institution experience.
- Must demonstrate leadership, problem-solving, communication, influential skills, and the ability to lead large-scale enterprise systems and engineering teams.
