Responsibilities
- Execute manual, exploratory, regression, release, API, and edge-case testing for web, mobile, and backend systems.
- Debug React Native applications on real devices, simulators, and emulators across operating systems and device classes.
- Use browser developer tools, logs, network inspection, crash reporting, and Datadog to investigate and document defects.
- Test REST APIs, authentication and authorization, service-to-service behavior, data pipelines, retries, and idempotency.
- Build and maintain automated test suites using Playwright and Maestro and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Write actionable bug reports with reproduction steps, expected and actual results, logs, network calls, screenshots, or recordings.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and design throughout feature development and release cycles.
- Track test coverage, defects, release risk, regression suites, and release readiness.
- Verify fixes and improve standards for test coverage, bug intake, triage, and release readiness.
- Use AI-assisted tooling for test generation, log analysis, and reproduction investigation.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience testing and debugging React Native applications on real iOS and Android devices, simulators, and emulators.
- Experience designing and building automated test suites from scratch with Playwright for web and Maestro for mobile.
- Experience testing Java/Spring Boot REST APIs behind a Node BFF using Postman or comparable tools.
- Basic SQL, including PostgreSQL, and comfort reading structured application logs.
- Familiarity with Datadog or a comparable observability platform for logs, dashboards, and error tracking.
- Experience integrating automated tests into pipelines such as GitHub Actions and triaging flaky tests.
- Strong written and verbal communication, clear reasoning, proactive collaboration, and follow-through.
- Active use of AI-assisted tooling in day-to-day work.
- Ability to read JavaScript errors, inspect network requests and payloads, check status codes and headers, use storage inspection, and emulate device viewports.
- Nice-to-have familiarity with TypeScript, React, Next.js, Jest, Testing Library, feature flags, experimentation, analytics, mobile crash reporting, Jira, accessibility, performance, and load testing.
- Nice-to-have experience with Optimizely, LaunchDarkly, Segment, Mixpanel, Braze, Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics, Gatling, Artillery, TestFlight, Play internal testing, and over-the-air updates.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in and located in Mexico.
