Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain a scalable web and mobile design system with React and React Native.
- Drive convergence between web and mobile design systems for visual and functional consistency.
- Develop and maintain React Native components for cross-platform experiences.
- Mentor team members on React Native best practices and mobile-first development.
- Collaborate with product designers to turn Figma designs into reusable UI components.
- Embed accessibility principles into the design system and provide accessible components, guidance, and tooling.
- Increase design-system adoption and quality through documentation, usage guidelines, team support, and feedback.
- Use prompting and context engineering to create AI-assisted developer tools, automation, and migration tools.
- Improve supporting scripts, build processes, and CI workflows when needed.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on React Native experience with a track record of building and shipping mobile applications.
- Strong understanding of design-system architecture, component-driven development, and design-engineering collaboration.
- Solid React and TypeScript experience across web and React Native development.
- Experience applying or promoting accessibility practices, including WCAG, ARIA, semantic HTML, and assistive-technology testing.
- Ability to share knowledge and mentor colleagues on mobile development.
- Understanding of testing and code quality for scalable interfaces.
- Ability to select effective technologies for complex UX and engineering challenges.
- Proven experience developing efficient, maintainable, and secure products.
- Comfort speaking English in day-to-day team collaboration.
- Preferred: experience building unified web and mobile component libraries.
- Preferred: understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript building and packaging processes.
- Preferred: experience tuning web and mobile application performance.
- Preferred: native iOS or Android development experience alongside React Native.
- Preferred: contributions to open-source mobile or design-system projects.
