ML/AI Senior Compiler Engineer

- Design and implement AI/ML compiler technologies for optimizing models and delivering high-performance inference on embedded hardware.
- Develop compiler features for ARM- and RISC-V-based CPU cores and NXP-specific compiler functionality.
- Work with architecture teams, internal compiler-tool consumers, hardware architects, ML researchers, and worldwide development teams.
- Optimize model lowering, intermediate representations, graph compilation, code generation, and execution on novel architectures.
- Apply graph-level optimizations including fusion, tiling, and scheduling.
- Analyze compiler-generated code with simulators, profilers, and analysis tools to improve code-generation quality.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with significant exposure to Machine Learning, Edge AI, and Embedded Systems.
- 10+ years of professional experience in compiler technologies.
- Experience with LLVM, MLIR, LLVM IR, Clang, the LLVM Pass Framework, optimization pipelines, code generation, and linkers.
- Experience with ML frameworks and software stacks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, MLIR, XLA, TVM, and TensorRT.
- Production-quality programming experience in Python and C++.
- Experience optimizing graph compiler passes for AI workloads and lowering PyTorch or TensorFlow models into efficient intermediate representations.
- Embedded systems programming experience and understanding of compiler requirements for embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of computer architecture, including caches, pipelines, and instruction set architectures.
- Ability to analyze complex compiler codebases and develop concise, accurate solutions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in a worldwide remote team environment.
- Experience contributing to the open-source community.
