ML/AI Compiler Engineer

- Design and implement AI/ML compiler technologies using C++ and LLVM for optimized inference on embedded hardware.
- Develop compiler features for ARM- and RISC-V-based CPU cores.
- Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of NXP-specific compiler features in the compiler framework.
- Implement graph compiler passes, model lowering, fusion, tiling, scheduling, and end-to-end performance optimizations.
- Analyze compiler-generated code with simulators, profilers, and analysis tools to improve code-generation quality.
- Collaborate with architecture teams, hardware architects, ML researchers, internal compiler-tool consumers, and worldwide development teams.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with significant exposure to Machine Learning, Edge AI, and Embedded Systems.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in compiler technologies, including LLVM/MLIR, LLVM IR, Clang, pass frameworks, optimization pipelines, code generation, and linkers.
- Experience with ML frameworks and software stacks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, MLIR, XLA, TVM, and TensorRT.
- Production-quality programming experience in Python and C++.
- Experience optimizing graph compiler passes for AI workloads and lowering PyTorch or TensorFlow models into efficient IR.
- Experience with graph-level optimizations including fusion, tiling, and scheduling.
- Embedded systems programming experience and understanding of compiler requirements for embedded systems.
- Understanding of computer architecture, including caches, pipelines, and instruction set architectures.
- Ability to analyze complex compiler codebases and produce accurate solutions, communicate effectively with remote teams, and contribute to open-source projects.
