Responsibilities
- Build account, KYC, and verification flows in Ruby and Go using durable Temporal workflows across services.
- Own work end-to-end from ambiguous requirements and written proposals through cross-team alignment, implementation, deployment, and production monitoring.
- Design and maintain backend systems using APIs, caching, system architecture, observability, and business metrics.
- Write unit tests and contribute to integration and end-to-end testing.
- Take ownership of critical alerts, support 99.99% availability, and participate in on-call rotations.
- Use and improve AI-assisted development workflows with Claude Code, Codex, and similar tools.
- Document technical decisions through proposals, RFCs, and ADRs.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in at least one programming language and comfort with API design, caching, and system architecture.
- Experience with Ruby and/or Go is a significant advantage.
- Ability to take ownership of features and projects, navigate ambiguity, propose solutions with trade-offs, and align stakeholders.
- Pragmatic problem-solving approach with a focus on simplicity and avoiding over-engineering.
- Strong interest in observability, monitoring, and AI-assisted or agentic development workflows.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Experience in payments, fintech, KYC/AML, or another regulated domain is advantageous.
