Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software development teams to improve application reliability, performance, security, and scalability.
- Provide business-as-usual production support and resolve monitoring- or user-reported issues before they affect the business.
- Develop Python, Unix shell, and Terraform automation to streamline operational tasks.
- Design, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform and best practices.
- Write database queries and perform database management, including work with document-oriented databases and AWS storage solutions.
- Configure Grafana, PagerDuty, Splunk, and other monitoring or logging solutions to track system health and respond to incidents.
- Support onboarding, migration, production releases, deployments, and improvement projects while coordinating with global teams.
Requirements
- 7–15 years of relevant DevOps and software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, plus relevant certifications.
- Proven experience with AWS cloud technologies, GitHub, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Database, database-query, scripting, and coding experience; document-oriented database experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Linux and networking, including AWS routing, DNS, load balancing, IAM, and security groups.
- Experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as PagerDuty and Splunk.
- Ability to work independently, lead group improvement efforts, solve problems proactively, manage priorities, and communicate with technical and business audiences.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or comparable AWS certification, enterprise container-platform certification, Amazon DocumentDB or comparable managed document-database experience, and experience with formal security, governance, incident-management, and change-control requirements.
