Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-performance features and core services for Navan’s global flight platform.
- Solve large-scale engineering challenges involving reliability, performance, and user experience.
- Own customer-facing features end to end from design and development through deployment and operational support.
- Collaborate with global engineers, product managers, designers, and business leaders.
- Promote best practices in code quality, scalability, documentation, monitoring, and testing.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production features after release.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience building and scaling complex systems, with exceptional candidates with less experience considered.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining consumer-facing or core business products at scale.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, including understanding of JVM performance and optimization.
- Strong experience with distributed systems, microservices, API design, and AWS or another cloud platform.
- Record of delivering maintainable, production-quality code and supporting systems after release.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to testing, documentation, scalability, and code quality best practices.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Travel industry knowledge involving flights, bookings, or inventory management is a strong plus.
