Responsibilities
- Design and develop software, services, and features for Windows at scale.
- Work with stakeholders and partner teams to determine requirements and deliver improvements for commercial customers and partners.
- Create design documents, identify dependencies, implement code, and reuse existing code where appropriate.
- Break larger work items into smaller tasks and provide estimates.
- Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual during on-call rotations, monitoring systems and restoring services for simple problems with approval.
- Improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance while maintaining consistent monitoring and operations at scale.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- Ability to design and develop software and services at scale using modern engineering practices.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and partner teams to define user requirements and technical solutions.
- Ability to create design documents and implement production software with limited oversight.
- Ability to participate in on-call monitoring and respond to service degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
- Interest in keeping current with developments that improve software availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance.
