Responsibilities
- Build reliable Java backend software supporting SIXT’s B2B Sales performance and revenue management platform.
- Design and own scalable, resilient distributed systems across a cloud-native microservices ecosystem.
- Develop shared libraries and internal tooling to improve engineering team delivery velocity.
- Design event-driven architectures and solutions that scale with SIXT’s enterprise needs.
- Use and guide the responsible adoption of AI coding assistants, including Cursor and Claude, in engineering workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, such as a B.Tech or B.E., or a Master’s degree.
- 7–9 years of hands-on experience in sophisticated engineering environments, including cloud-native application development, scalability problem-solving, and event-driven system design.
- Strong production-proven experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience navigating modern microservices landscapes and designing or operating distributed systems at scale.
- Understanding of event-driven patterns, publish-subscribe models, and message brokers such as Apache Kafka.
- Experience using AI coding assistants such as Cursor and Claude, with the judgment to recognize their limitations.
