Responsibilities
- Own the technical roadmap for assigned areas, including technical debt, reliability, scalability, and security improvements.
- Design and implement robust backend systems with clean APIs and interfaces.
- Drive integrations with risk and mitigation systems to support regulatory compliance.
- Lead technical delivery for large-scale, organisationally complex projects and cross-team initiatives.
- Identify and solve impactful technical and operational problems across the team and organisation.
- Define and deliver quarterly goals that improve verification processes and system scalability.
- Mentor engineers, share best practices, and contribute to a high-performing engineering culture.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience working with software systems and asynchronous message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Experience architecting and building highly scalable microservices.
- Strong product mindset with interest in customer experience and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and solve complex, ambiguous problems.
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining technical and architectural concepts to varied audiences.
- Commitment to clean, testable, maintainable, and performant code, best practices, and rigorous code reviews.
- Proven ability to lead technical delivery for large-scale, organisationally complex projects and manage organisational blockers.
- Extensive experience with relational and non-relational databases, including query optimization, schema design, and sensitive-data lifecycle management.
