Responsibilities

  • Lead security onboarding and assurance for region-specific AWS cloud services and regional infrastructure.
  • Engineer and automate security-control onboarding, validation, evidence collection, policy testing, reporting, and risk-reduction mechanisms.
  • Review technical designs, architectures, code, configurations, documentation, and structured data schemas and transformations against regional security requirements.
  • Translate security requirements into technical baselines, control objectives, implementation patterns, and measurable acceptance criteria.
  • Develop reusable security tooling, secure data-transfer patterns, guardrails, and reference implementations.
  • Conduct security assessments of data-flow controls and integrate automated assurance with audit frameworks and continuous monitoring.
  • Build security metrics, dashboards, and alarms; investigate security events and non-conformance and implement corrective solutions.
  • Apply Australian security frameworks including ISM, PSPF, and DSPF to engineer security baselines and controls.
  • Evaluate generative AI, AI agents, and multi-agent workflows while maintaining security controls and human oversight.
  • Provide customer-facing technical documentation and strategic security guidance to customers, engineers, and service teams.
  • Partner with global AWS service teams on product improvements, scalable solutions, and security feature requests.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and improve operational mechanisms based on security events.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance and successfully complete an Organisational Suitability Assessment.
  • Knowledge of industry security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
  • Non-internship experience with scripting, programming, and security code review in a common programming language.
  • Non-internship experience troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating tasks with command-line tools.
  • At least 3 years of IT security experience.
  • Experience securing cloud software services and understanding scalability, performance, and reliability design.
  • Experience identifying security issues and risks and developing mitigation plans.
  • Preferred: at least 2 years of combined experience in threat modeling, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration, or network security.
  • Preferred experience with security activities across the SDLC, application security architecture, security code reviews, security testing, incident response, or security infrastructure.
  • Preferred experience with Big Data, DevOps, security, systems administration, software development, cloud technology, automation, version control, threat modeling, penetration testing, or Kafka.
  • Experience working directly with security and engineering teams is preferred.
