Responsibilities
- Build and support full-stack applications running in GlobalFoundries manufacturing locations.
- Analyze, design, implement, maintain, and continuously improve software automation solutions in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
- Provide second-level support for applications owned by the team.
- Collaborate with manufacturing module engineers in Dresden and Singapore and partners at other international locations.
- Learn current software technologies and trends and mentor team members in areas of competency.
- Maintain source code and documentation according to the defined configuration management process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 5–6 years of experience, master’s degree with 3–4 years of experience, or PhD with 1–2 years of experience.
- Programming skills in a high-level language such as Java or C#.
- Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Basic knowledge of a scripting language such as TCL, Perl, or Python.
- Fluent written and spoken English and the ability to work effectively in international teams.
- Analytical thinking, comfort working with complex systems, and enthusiasm for combining software development with factory automation.
- Preferred proficiency in Java 8+ or the latest version and hands-on technical skills for delivering modules.
- Preferred knowledge of Java/J2EE, SOAP, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, Hibernate/JPA, ReactJS, TypeScript, or Angular.
- Preferred awareness of DevOps techniques and tools, source-code platforms such as Bitbucket or GitHub, Linux commands, manufacturing and ERP solutions, and application server configuration.
