
Staff Software Engineer - Logistics Microservices

Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the Logistics domain by designing, developing, and delivering scalable enterprise-grade microservices.
- Develop Java and Spring Boot services, RESTful APIs, and event-driven integrations using Kafka.
- Define engineering standards for secure coding, unit testing, Git branching, and code quality.
- Lead deployments and CI/CD automation on containerized platforms, including automated testing and release readiness.
- Own production application health through monitoring, alerting, incident triage, and root-cause resolution.
- Lead integrations across Warehouse Management, Transportation Management, Slotting, Labor Management, and Distribution Center operations.
- Partner with business stakeholders and third-party vendors such as Manhattan Associates to translate logistics requirements into technical solutions.
- Deliver AI and automation opportunities for logistics operations, production support, business-user productivity, reporting, testing, and documentation.
- Drive sprint planning, estimation, delivery tracking, and Agile execution.
- Mentor engineers, guide teams, drive execution, and raise engineering standards.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years as a Java Lead.
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale microservices in a retail, supply chain, or logistics environment.
- Experience with Agile delivery and Jira for sprint planning, estimation, and delivery tracking.
- Strong knowledge of logistics, warehouse management, and Distribution Center operations.
- Hands-on experience integrating Manhattan WMOS, Transportation Management Systems, Manhattan Slotting, and Labor Management systems.
- Experience leading third-party vendor integrations, integration platforms, and enterprise web services.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Java, JavaEE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC/WebFlux, microservices, and Kafka.
- Proficiency with RESTful web services, JPA, SLF4J logging, application configuration management, and enterprise integration systems.
- Strong relational database skills across DB2, SQL Server, and Oracle.
- Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, containerized platforms, and automated testing.
- Working knowledge of secure coding standards, Git repository and branching strategies, and Sonar.
- Proficiency with AppDynamics, Splunk, ELK, Grafana, alerting, and notification setup.
- Experience using AI tools, AI agents, and automation platforms to improve operations, support, validation, reporting, testing, and documentation.
- Ability to design AI-agent-led solutions for issue triage, exception monitoring, report generation, knowledge retrieval, regression testing support, and operational analytics.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices including data privacy, security, auditability, compliance, and validation of AI-generated outputs.
- Strong business acumen, situational leadership, stakeholder alignment, mentoring ability, and experience driving measurable business value.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
