Base Salary
$165k - $256k/yr
Responsibilities
- Optimize how machine learning models train and serve.
- Build the streaming data path from the data lake to GPU infrastructure.
- Choose and implement deliberate data formats for ML workloads.
- Instrument GPU utilization, queue depth, job success rate, experiment cost, data-loader stall time, and serving latency percentiles.
- Centralize training and experiment telemetry in a trusted system for researchers and planners.
- Translate requirements into durable operational processes and ensure the infrastructure fleet operates effectively in partnership with infrastructure and research leads.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of engineering experience.
- At least 4 years building and operating machine learning systems in production.
- Expertise in Python.
- Ability to read and modify framework-level code, including PyTorch and an inference server such as vLLM, SGLang, or TensorRT-LLM.
- Demonstrated experience optimizing models or inference systems.
- Hands-on distributed data-processing experience for ML, including Ray, Spark, or an equivalent technology.
- Experience with columnar and ML-native formats such as Parquet, Arrow, Lance, or similar.
- Practical observability experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent tools.
- Working knowledge of AWS compute and storage for ML workloads, including EC2 GPU instances, S3 performance tiers, and EKS.
- Experience with containerization and CI/CD for ML artifacts, along with a focus on reproducibility.
