Base Salary
$132k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data lakes, data warehouses, modern data pipelines, and related platform processes.
- Write clean code for data pipelines and infrastructure as code across the data platform lifecycle.
- Lead code and design reviews and mentor junior and peer developers.
- Design data architecture and solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance, scalability, and security issues and implement improvements.
- Participate in data governance, data platform documentation, technology evaluation, and cross-functional data initiatives.
- Develop and optimize automated testing solutions for data systems and improve pipeline and warehouse performance.
- Gather technical requirements, communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and support successful project execution.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Typically requires at least 5 years of related experience, or 3 years with an advanced degree.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, data engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience developing modern data architecture, analytics, data governance, AI/ML, or related systems.
- Experience with AWS big data technologies including EMR, Glue, S3, EKS, Lambda, Athena, RDS, MKS, Kafka, and Kinesis.
- In-depth knowledge of the complete data engineering process, including design, development, and deployment.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB, and MongoDB, plus data modeling principles.
- Experience with DevOps, containerized deployment, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Proficiency in SQL, including SQL Server and PostgreSQL, and Python.
- Strong experience with legacy data warehouses and ETL pipelines.
- Experience with multi-tenant B2B2C SaaS offerings, FinTech, and MPP data warehouses such as Redshift or Greenplum is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members, improve processes, work independently, analyze problems, manage time, and communicate technical information effectively.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
