Applied AI, Technical Lead - Forward Deployed AI Engineer

Responsibilities
- Deliver critical code, conduct code reviews, and optimize complex AI projects as an individual contributor.
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to teams of Applied AI Engineers.
- Lead technical discussions during pre-sales and translate customer requirements into actionable AI solutions.
- Design and oversee fine-tuning, RAG, agentic workflow, and custom LLM application implementations.
- Drive best practices for AI fine-tuning, inference, deployment, and evaluation of emerging tools.
- Collaborate with product managers, researchers, and engineers to incorporate customer feedback into product development.
Requirements
- PhD or Master’s degree in AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7/8+ years of AI/ML experience, including at least 2+ years in a technical leadership role such as Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, or Solutions Architect.
- Proven experience leading complex AI projects from prototyping through production across enterprise industries.
- Deep expertise in fine-tuning LLMs, advanced RAG, agentic systems, and deploying NLP applications at scale.
- Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, and modern AI frameworks such as LangChain and Hugging Face.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, and MLOps tools is a plus.
- Strong software engineering skills in API design, backend or full-stack development, and system architecture.
- Strong technical communication skills for explaining complex concepts to executives, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring technical talent and working in fast-paced collaborative environments.
- Preferred qualifications include open-source contributions, enterprise AI customer-facing experience, and a record of influencing product direction.
