Responsibilities
- Design, code, debug, deploy, and maintain Java applications.
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through testing and deployment.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional system designs aligned with architectural standards.
- Develop and support microservices, APIs, database integrations, and messaging-based applications.
- Collaborate with technology, product management, quality assurance, and cross-functional teams.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and participate in escalation and resolution processes.
- Explore and use AI-powered development tools and technologies to improve productivity and code quality.
- Follow software engineering, risk, compliance, security, ethical judgment, and control-reporting standards.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience in hands-on software development.
- Solid knowledge of Java, preferably Java 11 or later, and object-oriented design principles.
- Experience with Spring Framework, including Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
- Proficiency with JPA/Hibernate or Spring Data.
- Experience developing and deploying applications in a microservices architecture.
- Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.
- Familiarity with message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with AI-powered coding, debugging, and optimization tools such as GitHub Copilot and Amazon CodeWhisperer.
- Experience with advanced AI software engineering agents such as Devin is preferred.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI, and with Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Bachelor’s degree or university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Clear written and verbal communication, ownership, sound judgment, and experience contributing to successful software projects.
