Responsibilities
- Lead a platform engineering team delivering scalable, well-tested, well-documented cloud solutions.
- Design and develop full-stack web applications, web back ends, user interfaces, open APIs, and distributed cloud systems.
- Build and operate reliable, high-availability cloud platforms with observability and resilience capabilities.
- Evaluate cloud platform architecture, identify refactoring opportunities, and plan changes with product management and engineering.
- Contribute to the cloud platform roadmap and ship new platform and web-experience features.
- Collaborate with hardware and software product teams to define product vision, hardware APIs, and web APIs.
- Mentor engineers and educate software teams on code, testing, documentation, and engineering best practices.
- Evaluate programming languages, frameworks, and tools and recommend integrations or migrations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
- Experience building scalable cloud solutions involving container orchestration, database design, network infrastructure, and distributed systems.
- Experience designing and building web back ends and web user interfaces.
- Demonstrated ability to build and operate reliable, high-availability cloud platforms with logging, tracing, monitoring, and resilience engineering experience.
- Experience leading software engineering or platform engineering teams delivering tested and documented software.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT.
- Willingness to mentor colleagues and continuously develop software engineering skills.
