Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain desktop and cloud-based integration solutions.
- Develop and maintain Petrel plug-ins and workflows using the Ocean SDK for subsurface interpretation and modeling.
- Collaborate with geoscientists and engineers to translate domain workflows into robust software applications.
- Build and maintain APIs and data pipelines supporting seismic interpretation, geologic modeling, and reservoir characterization.
- Integrate AI/ML models into interpretation and earth-modeling workflows.
- Ensure software quality, usability, and performance through unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployment strategies.
- Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Provide technical mentorship and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, geophysics, computer science, or engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of subsurface geology and geophysics domains.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming with C++ and C#, Python, .NET Framework, Azure services, and DevOps.
- Experience developing plug-ins for subsurface static and dynamic modeling applications such as Petrel using the Ocean SDK.
- Experience with multithreaded or parallel computing, AI/ML, HPC, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
- Understanding of authentication and cybersecurity protocols, including OAuth.
- OpenGL, Qt, OSDU, Petrel, Techlog, and Studio experience is a plus or strong plus.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, independence, adaptability, and mentoring skills.
