Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain desktop and cloud-based integration solutions.
- Develop and maintain Petrel plug-ins and workflows supporting subsurface interpretation and modeling.
- Translate geoscience and engineering workflows into software applications that reduce subsurface uncertainty and cycle times.
- Build and maintain APIs and data pipelines for seismic interpretation, geologic modeling, and reservoir characterization.
- Integrate AI/ML models into interpretation and earth modeling workflows.
- Ensure software quality, usability, and performance through unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployment.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
- Provide technical mentorship and collaborate with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, geophysics, computer science, or engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming with C++ and C#, Python, .NET Framework, Azure services, and DevOps.
- Experience developing plug-ins with subsurface static and dynamic modeling applications such as Petrel using Ocean SDK.
- Experience with multi-threaded or parallel computing, AI/ML, HPC, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
- Understanding of authentication and cybersecurity protocols, including OAuth.
- Familiarity with OpenGL, Qt, and OSDU is a plus.
- Familiarity with Petrel, Techlog, Studio, and related subsurface tools is strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and mentoring skills.
