Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and enforce database development standards across development teams.
- Design and modernize architecture for critical Tier 0 database changes, transaction processing flows, and related UI modernization.
- Own and execute complex technical roadmap tasks focused on system resiliency and scalability.
- Investigate production issues, deliver hotfixes, and develop long-term architectural solutions.
- Design, code, debug, validate, and optimize database logic for high-volume transaction processing.
- Manage database performance, processing flows, and data growth to prevent delivery delays and system degradation.
Requirements
- Extensive experience designing, coding, debugging, and validating database logic within a software development life cycle.
- Proven experience managing and scaling databases for high-volume Tier 0 transaction platforms or massive data migrations.
- Deep technical knowledge of database performance tuning, processing optimization, flowcharting, and data growth management.
- Preferred experience with large-scale merchant platform migrations, payment network routing interfaces such as Interac, or UI modernization projects exceeding 10,000 hours.
- Preferred experience working in horizontal database teams spanning transaction processing through reporting.
