Responsibilities
- Lead moderately complex software engineering initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments.
- Design, code, test, debug, document, upgrade, and deploy software projects and programs.
- Develop complex Java services, RESTful web services, microservices, UI and backend functionality, and business-layer components.
- Design scalable, highly available, event-driven, and cloud-native solutions using Java, Python, microservices, and Autosys.
- Analyze complex business requirements and write technical specifications for new or redesigned modules and applications.
- Lead projects, provide coding direction and guidance to junior team members, and act as an escalation point.
- Collaborate with peers, managers, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and deliver application solutions.
- Apply Agile, DevOps, cloud delivery, test automation, and system resiliency practices.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education, or a combination of these.
- Experience with software engineering and cloud technologies such as OpenShift or PCF.
- Proficiency developing web-based applications with UI and server technologies including Angular or React, Spring Framework, JDBC, and JavaBeans.
- Experience developing client-side UI components and implementing application enhancements, bug fixes, and service integrations.
- Experience designing and maintaining efficient Java services and developing RESTful web services and microservices with Spring Boot.
- Experience developing Spring and EJB business-layer components and MVC RESTful services with Oracle or SQL Server databases.
- Knowledge of JUnit or TestNG, Selenium, and test automation.
- Experience with cross-platform consumption patterns, microservices, event-driven architectures, REST APIs, Object Storage, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Autosys or similar orchestration tools.
- Advanced knowledge of object-oriented analysis, design, development, and Java patterns and practices.
- Experience delivering projects using Agile software development techniques and cloud solutions.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, leadership, and technical guidance capabilities.
