Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, high-quality production software and algorithms.
- Define and deliver complex backend architectures and ensure design constraints are met in production code.
- Build and support performance-critical services using Java, scripting, RESTful or gRPC interfaces, messaging platforms, and databases.
- Lead CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code programs, containerized deployments, and cloud production workloads.
- Use and critically validate enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Apply responsible AI practices involving data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security.
- Drive secure SDLC practices, secrets management, TLS/mTLS, vulnerability remediation, and secure coding improvements.
- Define observability, alerting, dashboards, SLIs, and SLOs across teams.
- Lead incident response and post-mortems and drive systemic reliability improvements with SRE and partner teams.
- Analyze large and diverse datasets to identify patterns and improve coding hygiene, application quality, and system architecture.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Proven experience defining and delivering Java backend architectures for performance-critical services.
- Proficiency with at least one scripting language, such as Python or Bash, for tooling and automation.
- Expertise designing RESTful and/or gRPC services and familiarity with Kafka, MQ, or similar messaging and streaming platforms.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or Cassandra.
- Hands-on experience leading CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code programs, using Docker and Kubernetes, and operating workloads on AWS or Azure.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and evaluating, validating, and refining generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Advanced knowledge of secure SDLC, secrets management, TLS/mTLS, and vulnerability management and remediation.
- Strong command of metrics, logging, tracing, alerting, dashboarding, SLIs, and SLOs, with experience leading incident response and post-mortems.
- Preferred experience with ATM or branch channels, hardware device control, embedded device integrations, ISO 8583/20022, card and payment transaction processing, HSMs, PIN translation, and cryptographic key management.
