Responsibilities
- Architect and implement cloud security foundations across AWS and GCP, including account and project structures, IAM models, network segmentation, and secure service-to-service communication.
- Author reusable Terraform modules for IAM, networking, logging, and encryption, with policy enforcement, guardrails, and secure defaults.
- Design and operate cloud identity systems, including workload identity, service accounts, role assumption, and cross-cloud access patterns.
- Lead cloud networking security across VPC architecture, private connectivity, egress control, firewalling, and isolation boundaries.
- Build and maintain security automation across CI/CD and cloud environments to reduce manual processes and operational risk.
- Own Kubernetes and container security for production workloads on GKE and EKS.
- Define logging, monitoring, and detection pipelines for cloud security posture and incidents.
- Perform threat modeling and architectural reviews, review critical infrastructure changes, mentor engineers, and raise the organization’s security standard.
Requirements
- Experience building and operating secure cloud platforms or foundational infrastructure in AWS and GCP at scale.
- Deep fluency in Terraform, including large-scale state management, module design, and safe rollout strategies.
- Strong expertise in cloud IAM, networking design, secure systems, and infrastructure automation.
- Ability to define long-term technical direction, operate in ambiguity, and influence architecture through technical depth.
- Experience with Kubernetes and container security, including cluster hardening, RBAC, workload identity, image security, and runtime controls.
- Bonus: experience designing multi-account AWS organizations or large GCP project hierarchies.
- Bonus: familiarity with policy-as-code systems such as OPA or custom policy engines.
- Bonus: experience with cloud-native detection and posture tools and tuning signal-to-noise.
- Bonus: background in high-growth startups or infrastructure-heavy platforms.
