Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and architectural evolution of the Index Setup domain and deliver scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions.
- Lead complex initiatives end-to-end, from clarifying ambiguous requirements and shaping solution approaches through implementation across backend, frontend, data, and infrastructure.
- Drive system design for distributed services, APIs, integrations, data models, scalability, reliability, and cloud infrastructure.
- Raise engineering standards through hands-on leadership, code and design reviews, coaching, and emphasis on simplicity and maintainability.
- Partner with product, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to identify core problems and deliver solutions aligned with the platform vision.
- Improve engineering effectiveness, ownership, delivery processes, and trade-offs between speed, quality, and risk.
- Mentor engineers and support their technical growth, ownership, and end-to-end delivery.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with deep expertise in Java and Spring-based backend development in distributed systems.
- Experience with React and TypeScript frontend development in product teams responsible for full-stack delivery.
- Strong system design capabilities covering service decomposition, API design, integration patterns, data modeling, scalability, reliability, and operational concerns in cloud-native environments.
- Ability to lead ambiguous, business-heavy problem spaces and translate business needs into pragmatic technical solutions.
- A proven record of simplifying complex systems and delivering maintainable end-to-end solutions with significant business impact.
- Experience with code reviews, design reviews, testing strategy, observability, incident response, and production ownership.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to influence engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders without formal authority.
- A product mindset and delivery orientation, balancing technical quality with business value and driving initiatives to completion.
