Responsibilities
- Design, review, and execute test cases for APIs, backend services, and integrated systems.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and sanity testing.
- Validate REST and SOAP services using Postman, SoapUI, or equivalent tools.
- Identify, track, retest, and analyze defects using Jira or similar tools.
- Support test data preparation, test environment validation, and release readiness.
- Contribute to Java-based test automation and analyze results for root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, QA teams, and cross-shore teams to clarify requirements and improve test coverage.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with Java application-development knowledge and at least one year of software engineering experience.
- At least one year of software testing or quality engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience testing REST and/or SOAP APIs.
- Knowledge of JSON, XML, HTTP methods, request/response validation, and status codes.
- Basic or preferred experience with Java, Java frameworks, web services, unit tests, and integration tests.
- Familiarity with Jira, Bitbucket, Git, continuous integration environments, and AI tools for testing or development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, attention-to-detail, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
