Base Salary

$128k - $192k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop, and evolve software for large, highly available electricity market management systems.
  • Lead and contribute to electricity market application development, including design, testing, integration, tuning, and delivery.
  • Provide power-systems domain knowledge and technical leadership to software engineers.
  • Create design notes, testing procedures, and other technical documentation.
  • Provide budgetary estimates for project tasks and help ensure delivery meets schedule, budget, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Work with customers, product development, solution providers, partners, integrators, and cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Apply software development, security, scalability, refactoring, documentation, and testing practices.
  • Mentor junior team members and promote improved DevOps skills and practices.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a thesis or related power-systems work, or a STEM major.
  • At least four years of experience in electricity markets, Security Constrained Unit Commitment, Economic Dispatch using Mixed Integer Programming, or power-system analysis applications.
  • Strong understanding of Mixed-Integer Programming and experience with testing and test automation.
  • Knowledge of source control management, particularly GitHub, and the ability to learn new development practices, languages, and tools.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States and successful completion of required background investigation and drug screening.
  • Willingness to travel 10–20% and work from the Bothell, Washington office if needed.
  • Preferred: PhD in Electrical Engineering with power-systems thesis or related work, plus one year of electricity-market development or project-delivery experience.
