Base Salary
$95k - $125k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop cloud-native GNOS backend services and APIs supporting hearing products, fitting tools, patient applications, portals, and partner integrations.
- Translate product requirements and system designs into maintainable cloud solutions with clear interfaces and versioned contracts.
- Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and deployment patterns for GNOS services in Microsoft Azure.
- Implement resilient, observable services with logging, tracing, metrics, alerts, and alignment to product SLAs and SLOs.
- Participate in operational support and incident analysis for R&D-owned cloud services.
- Apply secure coding, privacy-aware design, and GN R&D quality practices for health and medical contexts.
- Collaborate with test engineers on unit, integration, contract, and performance test coverage.
- Integrate testing, static analysis, and security checks into CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with product managers, architects, software engineers, testers, product owners, UX teams, and client application teams.
- Address technical debt and improve platform performance, reliability, observability, CI/CD, and developer experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3–5 years of professional experience developing backend or platform services in production environments.
- Direct experience with at least one major cloud provider, such as Microsoft Azure, including API management, databases, messaging, identity, and containers.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language such as C#/.NET, Java, or Node.js/TypeScript.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs consumed by R&D teams or external partners.
- Practical experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and Git-based workflows such as GitHub.
- Demonstrated focus on reliability, maintainability, and security in solution design and implementation.
- Experience with Azure App Service, AKS, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, Azure SQL/Cosmos DB, or Service Bus/Event Grid is preferred.
- Experience with event-driven architectures or microservices in a product or R&D context is preferred.
- Familiarity with regulated environments, medical devices, health technology, privacy, or data protection requirements is preferred.
- Experience with Application Insights, Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry, distributed R&D teams, GitHub Actions, GitHub security features, or GitHub Copilot is preferred.
