Base Salary
$202k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to evolve the Uber One program across UberEats and UberX.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers to design, build, and optimize products used by millions of members.
- Architect highly available and scalable systems for complex technical challenges.
- Align teams on technical designs, tradeoffs, platform evolution, microservices architecture, and API design.
- Lead technical projects end-to-end from inception through design, global deployment, and productionization.
- Define standards for testing, monitoring, and alerting and oversee complex organizational incident management.
- Cultivate engineering culture, technical excellence, engineering velocity, and software quality.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building large-scale systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive hands-on Android development experience with Java and/or Kotlin, including code reviews.
- Experience developing mobile applications used by hundreds of millions of users globally.
- Strong experience delivering high-quality mobile UI experiences and features.
- Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, system design, and software architecture.
- Experience identifying architectural gaps and creating organization-wide frameworks that improve developer velocity and reduce technical debt.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects through the full lifecycle.
- Experience defining testing, monitoring, and alerting standards and overseeing complex incident management.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners around a technical vision.
- Marketplace experience, including creating zero-to-one features and optimizing marketplaces, is preferred.
- Experience with real-time marketplace platforms requiring high consistency and global reliability is preferred.
- Strong ability to navigate complex organizational and business needs, identify consumer needs through research and data, and build impactful products and systems.
- Strong cross-company technical collaboration and communication skills are preferred.
