Responsibilities

  • Design and develop backend software solutions for business and operational needs.
  • Build, test, and deploy Java-based applications and services.
  • Design and develop RESTful APIs for application functionality and integrations.
  • Contribute to scalable, secure, maintainable, event-driven, and distributed system architectures.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application defects, performance issues, and system errors.
  • Create and execute unit, integration, and functional tests.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system specifications, and operational procedures.
  • Support software deployment activities and continuous improvement of development practices.
  • Monitor and maintain existing backend applications, implement enhancements, and address technical debt.
  • Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
  • Follow coding standards, best practices, and software development methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; a comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience, including military service, may be considered instead.
  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience developing applications with Java and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing REST APIs.
  • Experience writing, testing, and deploying software across the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with Node.js.
  • Experience with Kafka event streaming technologies and exposure to Confluent Kafka in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with Neo4j or other graph database technologies.
  • Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and collaborative engineering practices.
