Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture, deployment, development, administration, and optimization of cloud projects supporting robotics and R&D applications.
- Manage AWS accounts and infrastructure, including account creation, billing, application monitoring, resource optimization, and cost tracking.
- Build and maintain Python backend services and REST APIs while coordinating with frontend developers.
- Gather and prioritize requirements, scope requests, communicate with stakeholders, and manage changing development work.
- Diagnose and resolve application and user issues with limited or ambiguous information.
- Implement security best practices and observability using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Datadog.
- Use modern AI development tools and assistants to accelerate coding, debugging, and solution architecture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- A few years of experience in cloud engineering, backend development, or highly related full-stack development.
- Deep experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and ECS, including serverless web applications using API Gateway and CloudFront.
- Strong Python backend development skills and experience building REST APIs.
- Experience with SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL, and familiarity with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB and MongoDB.
- Hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Proficiency in and openness to using modern AI tooling for coding, debugging, and architecture.
- Active AWS certifications, experience with FastAPI, Flask, Django, TypeScript, JavaScript, C++, React, Kubernetes, Aurora Serverless, other cloud providers, machine-learning infrastructure, or defense-related government contracting are preferred.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction is required.
