Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain AS400 applications using RPG, ILE RPG, CL, and related programming languages.
- Customize and enhance Infor XA applications to meet client needs.
- Gather and analyze requirements, identify solutions, document technical specifications, and develop or modify programs.
- Design and implement AS400 database structures and file layouts.
- Plan, design, code, debug, test, and deploy sustainable software solutions.
- Perform unit, system, integration, and user acceptance testing support.
- Troubleshoot application issues involving performance, error handling, and data integrity.
- Support deployments to test and production systems, post-go-live operations, data migrations, and system upgrades.
- Evaluate new technologies, build proof-of-concepts, and recommend product revisions or enhancements.
- Collaborate with business leaders, stakeholders, and team members, and coach less experienced employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering from a reputable institution or university with academic excellence.
- 5 to 8 years of professional experience.
- Experience with AS400 development tools, including RPG and ILE RPG.
- Experience developing with CL and SQL, and designing AS400 database structures and file layouts.
- Ability to independently gather requirements, analyze problems, develop solutions, and debug software.
- Experience with unit, system, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Knowledge of Infor XA is an added advantage.
- AS400 or related technology certification is an added advantage.
