Responsibilities
- Build and ship backend features and capabilities in a highly scalable, cross-geography distributed environment.
- Craft and implement highly scalable and performant RESTful microservices.
- Review code for readability, testing, documentation, reliability, security, and performance.
- Ensure visibility, error reporting, and monitoring for high-performing backend services.
- Mentor teammates through knowledge-sharing sessions and expertise sharing.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, product managers, and designers.
- Participate in Agile development activities including stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos.
Requirements
- 3–4+ years of experience building and developing backend applications.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in a modern object-oriented programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Scala, or Python.
- Fluency with a database technology such as Oracle, Postgres, DynamoDB, or Cassandra.
- Hands-on experience with public cloud offerings including AWS, GAE, or Azure.
- Knowledge of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and cloud architecture patterns.
- Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- An engineering discipline focused on producing high-quality software.
