Responsibilities
- Design and implement reliable, scalable backend services and data pipelines.
- Build and maintain data ingestion services using APIs and batch file processing.
- Modernize legacy, manual, and spreadsheet-driven workflows with automated systems.
- Develop internal dashboards and services that provide real-time operational and business visibility.
- Create automation for manual investigation and internal self-service.
- Improve monitoring, alerting, observability, performance, security, and data quality checks.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues and contribute to system reliability.
- Collaborate with product, analytics, and operations teams to align technical solutions with business needs.
- Contribute to technical direction and roadmap planning.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated backend development and data engineering proficiency.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Proficiency with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, with PostgreSQL preferred.
- Proficiency in Snowflake or a similar data warehouse tool.
- Experience deploying and managing applications using AWS.
- Experience with CDK, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar tools.
- Ability to design scalable, reliable, and high-performance distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, microservices, and REST and GraphQL API design.
- Working knowledge of security fundamentals, including authentication, authorization, and secure service design.
- Experience with unit testing and integration testing.
- At least B2-C1 English proficiency, described as 90%+ written and oral English, with strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and lead technical efforts across teams.
- Preferred: experience with Apache Airflow or similar data pipeline and orchestration tools.
