Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain production-grade backend services using Python.
- Build and integrate APIs for internal and external consumers.
- Work with AWS cloud services and cloud architecture patterns.
- Develop batch, streaming, and near-real-time data-processing flows.
- Integrate backend services with external systems, third-party APIs, and AI inference services.
- Design and work with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Contribute to event-driven architectures using queues, messaging systems, and asynchronous processing.
- Collaborate on deployments, versioning, environment management, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Improve logging, monitoring, observability, reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Debug complex production issues across distributed services and identify root causes.
- Collaborate with mobile, Product, DevOps, and other engineering teams on planning and technical decisions.
- Use AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, support decisions, and validate final outputs.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience as a Backend Engineer with solid Python experience.
- Experience building and maintaining production-grade backend services.
- Experience designing, implementing, and integrating REST APIs.
- Practical experience with AWS and basic cloud architecture patterns.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and data-processing concepts.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, versioning, and environment management.
- Experience with logging, monitoring, and observability tools in production systems.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving ability across distributed systems, services, and integrations.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, take ownership, and understand broader system impacts.
- Comfort working in agile teams and adapting to changing priorities.
- Regular use of AI tools, including effective prompting, critical validation, and responsible ownership of results.
- Preferred: exposure to Go, event-driven systems, queues, messaging, asynchronous processing, AI inference or machine-learning APIs, high-volume workloads, infrastructure-as-code, containerization, orchestration, mobile engineering, and production support.
