Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services for data-driven business processes.
- Build event-driven and real-time streaming architectures using Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, and event-processing components.
- Design reliable and scalable communication patterns between distributed systems and implement business logic around asynchronous events.
- Build, deploy, and integrate cloud-native solutions within AWS environments.
- Troubleshoot application, integration, and data-streaming issues across distributed environments.
- Contribute to technical design and architecture discussions involving Java, Kafka, AWS, and event-driven systems.
- Apply automated testing, code reviews, observability, and CI/CD practices while collaborating with software engineers, architects, and DevOps/cloud engineers.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 6–8+ years of professional experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and modern Java development.
- Solid production experience with Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, offsets, asynchronous processing, failure handling, and resiliency.
- Experience designing or developing distributed, event-driven systems and APIs or integration services.
- Practical experience with AWS and cloud-based application environments.
- Understanding of microservices and distributed application architectures.
- Experience with automated testing, Git, CI/CD, and modern software engineering practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred experience includes Confluent Kafka or Confluent Platform, Kafka Streams, Schema Registry, Avro or similar serialization approaches, AWS event-driven services, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring or observability tools.
