Senior Staff AI Platform Engineer

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate AI Gateway components for identity, authorization, token budgeting, DLP, content guardrails, model routing, MCP allow-listing, and audit logging.
- Build Harness capabilities for agent orchestration, prompt and context management, multi-turn memory and state, and model abstraction across providers.
- Develop production LLM-powered services in Python with FastAPI and pydantic.ai, and contribute to React and TypeScript platform surfaces.
- Implement MCP and tool wiring for internal and SaaS-embedded agents while enforcing shared policy controls.
- Build, test, and harden Claude and Gemini Enterprise plugins, including role-based skills and agents.
- Instrument platform services with metrics, tracing, and audit trails, and participate in on-call and operational support.
- Collaborate on model evaluation, selection, prompt tuning, and routing decisions, while participating in documentation, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience building production services for multiple consumers, such as API gateways, internal platforms, or data platforms.
- Experience with authentication and authorization, rate limiting, observability, or audit logging; direct AI and LLM platform experience is preferred but not required.
- Practical experience with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph and hosted model providers such as AWS Bedrock or Google Vertex.
- Strong Python skills, ideally with FastAPI, and the ability to learn frameworks such as pydantic.ai.
- Working familiarity with React and TypeScript is preferred.
- Understanding of context windows, memory, and tool calling in production, with exposure to or curiosity about the Model Context Protocol.
- Familiarity with enterprise AI deployments such as Claude Enterprise or Gemini Enterprise is preferred.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, API design skills, production-quality coding practices, and ability to participate effectively in technical reviews.
